Best feeding time

SmartFeeder feeds through the leaves, as well as the roots. So for optimum feeding water early morning or late afternoon as that's when the leaf pores open to regulate the passage of moisture, oxygen and carbon dioxide through the leaves. You’ll also reduce evaporation saving water.

Deep watering is better

If you water too frequently plants become too ‘water’ reliant, developing shallow roots and becoming less hardy. Give your garden a good, deep soaking every few days rather than a little every day to encourage plants to develop a good, strong root system.

Check reticulation system is working properly

Your reticulation system needs to be in good working order for SmartFeeder to feed your plants effectively. Check entire system in early spring and then periodically throughout the growing season. Look for worn nozzles or blockages, and calibrate your sprinklers to ensure your plants are receiving the water they need. See your local irrigation professional for advice and assistance.
